A Letter To The Small Business Owner

One of the biggest driving forces behind Small Town Tech, LLC is supporting our local small businesses in the Farmville area. As a new small business owner myself, I now have a greater understanding of just how complex and tricky simply having a business is. However, small businesses are the foundation of our community. The owners aren’t people we’ve never heard of from big cities or large corporations, they’re regular every day citizens of the community just like you and me.

COVID was a hard time for many small businesses around the world. Some of our own small businesses in the Farmville area fell victim to the hard times created by the virus. During that time however, something magical happened that I feel we need to bring back and make standard practice. The alarm bells started ringing, signaling the crisis that owners were facing, and for a brief moment local businesses became the focal point of the world’s attention.

There was a big push to buy local and buy whatever you could to support your local community and help owners pay their bills and keep the lights on. It was the most compassion we have seen in a long while as a nation to come together for a common good. Now that everything has blown over, we are back to spending most of our dollars outside of our local communities. Oftentimes, we don’t even feel as good when we buy from a large corporation like we do when we buy local.

We all know the most authentic, genuine, and quality products come from handmade local sources. It’s been proven time and time again that the food from large companies contain ingredients found harmful to the human body. It’s also been proven that fresh, low ingredient foods, taste better and are better for you.

Civilization is built on hunting and farming. It is what we are destined to do and is the foundation of survival. We have many meat processors, produce farmers, bakers, coffee shops, dessert cafes, sandwich shops, and so many other fresh local food sources that we honestly have no need to shop from convenience stores for our food. Convenience has detracted us from that ideology. Small businesses have their work cut out for them when trying to compete on the convenience front against large companies but with some support, it is possible.

With Small Town Tech, I aim to try to make the lives of local business owners as easy as possible. You have enough to deal with to have to focus on your technology setups and issues. With the world becoming more and more digital, technology is essential to run a business at an effective level. I would be honored to have the chance to fill in any knowledge or convenience and efficiency gaps with your technology setups.

We have a person or place for pretty much everything in the community except technology support. With my company I will work hand in hand with you to get your companies up and running smoothly, and transitioned into the digital age as best as I can. I am big on tradition, community, and loving your neighbor, so although I will create a more digital presence for your business, I will preserve the small town authentic identity that makes us all great!
